Why Abruzzo Country Houses

The for profit world is driven by identifying market needs and then filling them with the right value equation product. That is not what Abruzzo Country Houses is about. To get the idea of Abruzzo Country Houses think of a craft shop where local artisans sell their products. The product in ACH case just happens to be a house.

Carmine Lamonica is just not a builder he is a superb craftsman and an artist. Houses that please are a combination of space, light and texture. Our current maximum output of houses is one or two a year. That is because there is only one Carmine and he refuses to hire large teams because he wants to control the quality and craftsmanship.

Carmine builds stone walls that are beautiful to look at. He takes new wood beams and “ages“ them to appear old. He plasters walls so that they have subtle variations and therefore do not appear new. The terra cotta floors and ceilings are of a classic style.

This craftsmanship and attention to detail when combined together gives us a pleasing end product. The closest thing in England would be a beautifully restored Cotswold cottage but Abruzzese style. We believe that there are people out there who will love Carmine’s houses.

Ideally we would like owners to become involved as early as possible in projects so that their input can be included, and therefore a number of projects are available now 'off-plan'.
